SUMMARY:

Vehicle development and calibration of advanced heating and cooling systems for automotive applications.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering required: Mechanical (ME) or Electrical Engineering (EE) preferred.

Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in system level integration, testing, and control is desired. Experience with automotive HVAC systems is a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The successful candidate will have experience testing vehicle systems and control strategies to achieve stability and desired performance. The ability to coordinate and execute controlled, repeatable vehicle tests and compile and analyze the data to drive product design and execution is the primary objective for this position. Experience with calibration techniques, control theory, data analysis and the ability to apply them to complex systems is very desirable. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

    • Control theory and application
    • Knowledge of statistics and data analysis
    • Experience with electro-mechanical systems
    • Experience with thermal systems and HVAC controls is desirable but not required
    • Experience with prototyping tools for control development: LabView or Simulink is a plus
    • Experienced with automotive product development requirements is a plus
    • Familiar with LIN or CAN communication protocols is a plus
    • Ability to work effectively with Microsoft Office tools: Excel, Word, PowerPoint etc.
    • Coordinate and lead vehicle level testing and system level calibration
    • Collect and analyze vehicle data to drive improved product design, system function and control
    • Develop vehicle validation plans and specifications
    • Develop test procedures for calibration and controls development
    • Work as a member of the team to develop and implement a complex vehicle thermal system
    • Work as a member of the team to establish functional attributes and requirements of the system, subsystem and components
    • Interpret customer specifications, develop and validate vehicle test strategies to support
    • Develop DFMEA, DVP&R documentation as required to support customer programs
    • Provide direction to suppliers as required
    • Interface with customers as required
    • Identify new and innovative solutions that meet strategic objectives. Support development of product roadmaps, strategies, and requirements.
