Job Description

IMPACT Management's established client, located in Wixom, MI has an immediate need for an Quality Inspector. The Quality Inspector is a key member of the quality team who will ensure products and processes meet defined quality standards, all regulatory requirements are met, and communication with internal and external customers and vendors is maintained. This client specializes in manufacturing the most advanced rifle scopes and sights for tactical and sporting applications.

Quality Inspector will be responsible for the following:

  • Inspection of in-process production including but not limited to confirming specifications, conducting visual tests, measurement tests and communicating required adjustments to Production Supervisor, as established in work instructions and schedules.
  • Conduct finished product inspections including by not limited to confirming specifications, conducting visual test, measurement test as established in work instructions and schedules.
  • Conduct in process and first off inspections when inspecting in Machining, using a faro arm and other measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, Optical comparator, etc.)
  • Responsible for final inspection sign-off for approved products
  • Responsible for returning products for re-work; confirming re-work.
  • Write nonconforming material reports (NMR’s) as required
  • Complete final inspection sign-off for approved products.
  • Responsible for rework tags for non-conformances.
  • Assist Quality Team in root cause analysis for defective product
  • Document inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality spreadsheets.
  • Report problems with measurement equipment to Supervisor. 
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Keep supervisor advised of work status, workload, problems, and progress as related to work assignments.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned.

A qualified Quality Inspector will meet the following requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, and at least 2 years of work related experience
  • 2 years of related work experience
  • Strong computer skills, data base management
  • Good written and oral communication skills
  • Reliable transportation and excellent attendance

Shift Time Available for Quality Inspector

1st: 7:00AM-3:30PM

Pay Rate for Quality Inspector

$11.75/Hourly (pay increase once hired in)
