Objective of the Position: Provide supplier quality support at the plant level to drive build issues to timely resolution.

Essential Accountabilities: The position incumbent ensures, that

  • Conduct match build events with suppliers
  • Follow up with suppliers on build issues to drive timely resolution
  • Perform Fit/Function approvals on components
  • Audit incoming components for dimensional verification
  • Verify stack up based off component capability studies
  • Monitor high risk suppliers and critical parts with the program team
  • Perform, when necessary, supplier audits and monitor action plans for improvement
  • Highlight immediately to program and functional management any issues that may seriously affect the program deliverables
  • Ensure implementation of error proofing solutions in the supplier’s processes
  • Agree boundary samples and failure catalogues with suppliers if applicable
  • Manage supplier complaints during the launch phase
  • Manages supplier deviations during launch phase
  • Work closely with corporate Advanced Supplier Quality (ASQ) to provide feedback
  • Approve PPAP for all modifications (engineering changes, process changes, transfer, etc.) for all BOPs (Bought-Out Parts) and BIPs (Bought-In Parts)and archives initial samples and associated PPAP files
  • In case of non-conforming parts issue the supplier complaint and manage the supplier 8D to ensure robustness of the corrective actions. If necessary validate the 8D at the supplier’s shop floor

Professional Background / Basic Qualification / Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Quality or closely related field.
  • Minimum three years’ experience in supplier quality functions with proven proficiency in quality systems and supplier development.  
  • Minimum five years’ experience in the automotive, commercial vehicle or non-road manufacturing.
  • Competency in welding & metal forming techniques and processes preferred
  • Experience with an ERP system required, SAP experience preferred.
  • Ability to travel domestically by car or plane.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should be proficient in Microsoft Office.
