Job Description

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for overall TPM, advanced troubleshooting, and repairs for plant equipment electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and robotic systems/processes. The Maintenance Manager will lead equipment improvement efforts through implementation and monitoring of predictive and preventive maintenance initiatives, as well as coordination of all corrective action maintenance activities. This candidate will ensure proper staffing, training, tools, and maintenance plans are achieved, maximizing equipment availability in the most cost effective manner.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the operations of maintenance related activities;
  • Develop and implement a proactive approach to ensure maximum equipment uptime through predictive and preventive maintenance procedures;
  • Assist maintenance team with complex troubleshooting and repairs;
  • Monitor all maintenance service and PM activities, ensuring timely completion;
  • Synchronize scheduling of all maintenance activities with operations management, engineering, maintenance team, external vendors, etc. based upon equipment, resource, and parts availability;
  • Review all completed maintenance work orders to ensure action items are addressed in a timely manner, providing leadership influence where required;
  • Assist with identification and procurement of vendors, tools, equipment, materials, etc. required for completion of maintenance activities;
  • Ensure spare part inventories are adequately maintained to ensure timely completion of maintenance projects and requirements;
  • Support the planning, layout, and new installation or relocation of equipment, or other maintenance related systems;
  • Recommend and implement initiatives for continuous improvement utilizing a data driven approach;
  • Establish and monitor departmental KPI’s and customer satisfaction metrics to drive operational effectiveness;
  • Assist with root cause analysis initiatives, and implementation of equipment related corrective actions;
  • Lead and support the attainment of site budgets and objectives relating to Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost;
  • Identify, develop, and deliver relevant maintenance-related training;
  • Maintain compliance with all company policies and Health, Safety, and Environmental regulatory requirements;
  • Ensure safe work practices are being followed by all team members;
  • Assist with Layered Process Audits, as well as internal and external certification audits (IATF, TS, and ISO);
  • Coach, inspire, and manage departmental talent, ensuring proper staffing levels, and compliance with HR policies and procedures;
  • Build and enhance relationships with internal teams and vendors, facilitating effective business partnerships and issue resolution.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of maintenance experience supporting an OEM supplier related manufacturing facility;
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a maintenance management role, leading both salary and hourly maintenance team members in a manufacturing environment;
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering preferred; equivalent combination of education and work experience may be considered;
  • Experience with stamping, MIG welding, robotics, and paint related equipment strongly preferred;
