Impact Management Services has a client located in Webberville, MI (approximately 25 miles east of Lansing, MI) seeking a Human Resources Generalist.

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the Human Resources department (including administrative and clerical support) in carrying out various Human Resources programs and procedures for company employees in a Manufacturing Environment.


  • Assists in administration of compensation program; monitors/coordinates performance appraisal process.
  • Process Payroll and resolve any issues with payroll and/or time system, training of Supervisors/Mgrs on Time system, etc.
  • Time System and Door Access system administration(update and maintain)
  • Vacation accrual updates in Time System
  • EEO-1 Reporting & VOE completion
  • Write work instructions /procedures/update & develop Job Descriptons
  • Assist HR Manager with reporting and research
  • Participation in Policy Development and Recommendations
  • Identify situations that may require interpretation or refining of Policies.
  • Participates in benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, TPA coordination, etc.
  • Coordinate manning through temp agency and participates in recruitment effort for all non-exempt employees
  • Conducts Salaried and Hourly new employee orientations; administers pre-employment tests; conducts reference checks.
  • Assist with and perform Exit or Stay interviews.
  • Provide employees with answers to questions for payroll/time system, procedures, etc.
  • Coordinate organizational training and development efforts.
  • Conduct training as identified
  • Recruitment responsibilities
  • Maintains department records and reports.
  • Safety Team member, OSHA Log, Workers Comp. Reporting
  • Suggestions for employee satisfaction, employee events coordination
  • Maintain employee filing system to include for example; record retention via appropriate separation, employee, medical, training, etc.
  • Filing of all employee information/documentation- Research paperless option;recommendations
  • Creation of New hire and lost Badge for Door access and Time System, including paperwork for payroll deduction
  • Completion of I-9s
  • HRIS and Employee Navigator
  • Create New Hire Orientation Packets
  • Attendance Tracking Spreadsheet for Direct Hire and Contract workers
  • Ensure Driver License and Background check paperwork is complete and fax/order reports
  • Maintain Discipline Tracking spreadsheet
  • Timely Process all bills for Contract Agencies and ensure accurate cost center allocation
  • Timely Process all bills for Benefit Programs ensuring accurate cost center allocation
  • Maintain monthly drawings for tickets, etc.
  • Maintain Manning Schedule and documentation
  • Maintain and develop, as necessary, training check sheet.
  • Develop training document tracking to ensure completion before employee moves up in pay
  • Process Uniform billings ensuring accurate cost center allocation and deduction paperwork as appropriate
  • Maintain Company apparel, distribution and completion of payroll deduction form
  • Develop how to Procedures, for Time Systems, payroll information, etc.
  • Develop HR checklist with for new hire, termination, etc.
  • Completion of Friend of the Court information requests
  • Ensure Vacation and Unpaid information in Time System is up to date and correct.
  • Assist with Service Award paperwork
  • Job Descriptions – Write new and update old
  • Compiles reports as necessary
  • Any other duties as assigned by Manager

Experience and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Must have Two to three years current experience in the HR field in an automotive manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience utilizing knowledge of principles and practices or Human Resources
  • Proven experience with an HRIS database
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and computer literacy
  • Advanced user of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point. Outlook experience.
  • Experience with a payroll systems such as Paychex, ADP, Paycor, ECI, etc.
  • Ability to keep information confidential
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
